Curtain Project...

I was on a mission to change the curtains in our living room/dining room/kitchen area.  I have an open floor plan so it is hard for me to pick things out for each room because I have to make sure that they all match.  Here is what I decided on...

For the Living Room I chose a blue missoni pattern.  I ordered this and when I got it in I realized how much I loved it and it matched the living room so I decided it was perfect!

I chose this fabric for the dining room and kitchen.  It is  so modern and Joe really likes it!  It wasn't for curtains, but for my fabric boxes and I had enough left to make curtains.  Love it!

Dining room view.

Kitchen view.

These are the awesome fabric boxes I made.  It took me 3 hours to make it.  It had a lot of measuring and cutting, but I don't think my second one will take that long.

The baskets look good in my dining room and they match the curtains.  :o)

Last picture is a treat!  I have no Idea why but Ryan has been making this face for the last three days.  He opens his mouth like he is getting ready to say something and just leaves it open.  He looks happy when he does it so I don't know.  I hope he just learned a new thing because it is so cute!  :o)

Hope you have a fabulous day!

e.l.f. Cosmetic Review...

Today I received my e.l.f. cosmetics in the mail today!  So you ask, what is e.l.f. cosmetics?  Well, e.l.f. stands for Eyes. Lips. Face.  You can visit their website here.
It felt like Christmas opening up all of the makeup that I received.  This is what I got for $25!!

WOW!!
This is two cream eyeshadow duos
two powder eyeshadow duos
lengthening mascara
brown waterproof eyeliner pen
black waterproof eyeliner pen
two mineral powder eyeshadows
one shimmer cream eyeshadow palette of 4 colors
pressed powder
one duo blush (pink shimmer and bronze)
and lip gloss.

I tried everything I purchased.  One of my eyes has one color/eyeliner and the other has a different one (just incase you wonder why my eyes look different).

Sorry for the bad looking hair.  I had just finished working out.  Now I have to go wash all of the makeup off.  :o)

So, for the review.... I won't keep you waiting any more!
I love everything!
I was afraid paying $1 - $3 for makeup that it wouldn't be great and the pigments wouldn't show up on my face but this makeup is great!
I love Mary Kay, but just have a hard time affording it and getting it when I need it.  Why spend more when e.l.f. is a fraction of the price and works just as well?!?!
Here are some more pictures/close ups of the makeup...
Here is the blush (it is hard to see the colors.  I should have photographed them on a white piece of paper).  It is a light pink and a bronzy color.

These are the eyeshadows.  The round ones are duos and the ones with the black lids are mineral powder eyeshadow.

In this picture you can see the shimmer cream eyeshadow quad, the pressed powder, and the eyeliners and mascara.  I guess you can see part of the lipgloss too.

These are the mineral powder eyeshadows.

And the shadows again.
I am so glad that I tried e.l.f. cosmetics and will buy them again.  In fact, I did put in another $10 order so that I could get a FREE $80 value palette for my birthday...because e.l.f. is good like that!  :)
If you would like to know the exact colors of the products that I purchased, please comment below and I will get you the list.
e.l.f. has a special right now that if you spend $25 you will get free shipping, so go to the site and get you some fabulous new makeup!
Thanks for reading my review!

Another Dress...

Here is another dress!  I made it today during "nap time" and it turned out great!  It already has an owner so it isn't for sale, but I just wanted to show it to you anyway.

The Greatest Gift...

I had the best day yesterday and got some wonderful gifts and had many friends and family members wish me a happy birthday, but I got the best gift of all today!  (sorry Ma...I haven't gotten my gift from you yet so yours may be better?!?  LOL)  Sarah, a wonderful lady who I attend Church Services with, gave me her serger that she didn't use any more!!!!  I know!  How wonderful is that!?!?  I brought it home and started using it right away.  I made a little "pouch" to go on the front of my serger to catch all of the fabric that it cuts before it serges the fabric.  It turned out great!

Isn't my serger just beautiful?  LOL
It doesn't take much to get me excited these days in my old age.  ;o)
After I made the little pouch, I decided to make a dress...

I love this flower.  I covered up the pocket on the shirt with the flower.  The pocket took the "prettiness" out of the dress.

I have three more dresses to make.  I may work on them tomorrow if I have time.

This is another one of my creations...

All you need to make one is a box top (or an old picture frame), some ribbon, and a glue gun.  That's it!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Sewing Space....

My sewing table finally came in!  Let me tell you, this table far exceeded my expectations!  It took me about 45 minutes to put it together and it is very sturdy.  I love the way it looks and how much storage it has.

First there are a few things that I don't want you to see...1. the absence of molding in our room (you will have to talk to my hubby about that one.), 2. the paint chips in the paint on the walls (I can fix this but I didn't have time yesterday), and 3. the crooked pictures that will be fixed today.
I just love how it looks in our room!!
Everything is finally organized and I can leave my machine out and quickly sew something if I need to.  I love how the picture frames turned out.  I had a black one, a brown one, and a light wooden one. I decided to paint them white and after the first coat I really liked how they looked shabby chic so I left them with one coat.

I also wanted to post pictures of the fabric I have available for dresses or zipper pouches.  I need to go buy more fabric soon.  I am running low!

The Embellished Dress...

Ok, I had some time to finish the dress before bedtime.  Here it is...

I loved the way it turned out!  It is my favorite so far!

More Pouches and A New Dress...

I made the Pouches a little different this time and squared off the corners.  This is how they look...

I think I like them much better this way.  I ran out of Zippers, so I can't make any more right now.  I did find an awesome zipper store online and ordered a bunch more.  I also ordered some smaller zippers to make small coin pouches.  They are so much fun to make!

This is the new dress I made today.  I think this is the way I am going to make them from here on out.  I used a shirt and cut the bottom half off and sewed on a cute fabric to make a dress.  This one is for a baby and that is why I used a onsie.  I am planning on embellishing it more but didn't have the time today to mess with it.  If you want me to make a dress let me know what size shirt your daughter/granddaughter wears and a pattern/color preference and I will make you one (or how ever many you want!) I am charging $10 for the pouches and $15 for the dresses.

Zipper Pouch...

Need a zipper pouch??  I can help you out with that!  I am now making and selling zipper pouches for $10 each.  I have been putting off making them because I had to figure out how to change the foot on my sewing machine to put the zipper foot on to make these.  It was actually easier than I thought it would be. The next one I make I am going to square off the corners to make it look even better and it will hold more things too.  So...Here it is!

My favorite thing about them is that they have a liner that is fun.  I love how this one turned out.  I used material that I bought for my pillows that was left over to make these.
Let me know if you need a zipper pouch!

New Pillows and craft space...

This week I finally decided on what to use for my pillows in the living room. I have been searching for a long time for the perfect fabric and I found three that I thought worked together and with the other decor in my house.  I have an open floor plan and it is hard sometimes to coordinate everything.  It also helped that Joann fabric was running a special for 50% off their home decor fabric.  I wanted to use the home decor fabric because it is better quality and will hold up for longer.
So this is how they turned out...
(Oh, before I show you...I only got 2 of the 3 fabrics in the mail today.  This is a picture of the one that hasn't come in yet...)

Love this fabric!!!

Here are the ones that I have made...

They turned out so nice!

Here is what I have bought for my new craft nook that I have created in my room...

I am so excited for it to come in!  I will post a picture of the finished product when I get it all put together.  I really want my husband to build me a craft room/playroom for the kids, but he isn't feeling it since he will be the one doing all the work to build it.  Too bad hiring it out costs too much!  Maybe I will get him to say yes eventually! Ha!
Happy pillow making!
